Ippocalyptica This is one of the five albums that I bought digitally via BandCamp despite already owning the physical version from years prior, and I bought this again for one reason: to tell everyone that this is THE landmark war metal album of the past 20 years. The paragon of unadulterated rage and uncompromising vision, this stands as the finest distillation of eschatological aural madness that I have ever heard. More evil than most black metal and more pulverising than most death metal, you need this. Favorite track: Cadaver Synod.

dyingstarsinmyeyes Surprisingly hardcore, as in punk, though it's really not punk at all, more like cavernous death/black, but it's got a lot of those old school thrash, chromatic power chord type riffs that harken back to hardcore rhythms... Oh, and did I mention it's also more evil than Satanic rituals on a moonless eve in a centuries old graveyard suffocating in miasma? Give it a listen.
